Video Game Gifs- Page 1
*NEW* Chibi Riku and Sora from Kingdom Hearts. I decided to make a gif of them from the first KH instead of second, just for the sake of the good old times. ^_^ This is one of those gifs that looks "simple," but actually took a very long time to compose together. I wanted this to be an original looking gif, so I wanted to do my own poses. But since it's clear it takes me forever to come up with my own poses (even for chibis >_<), it took much longer than expected to finish. I decided to have them sit back to back, instead of "other" pose ideas I had in mind, which may have been pure fangirl ideas. >_> Their hair was a bit tricky to shade in, because most of the official illustrations have it done a bit "CG" shaded instead of the "usual" anime hair shading. Because of that, I decided to follow the same idea and to color it similarly, so it won't look too different. I think Sora was the hardest to draw in chibi form (especially his hair XD), and I had Riku finished way before him, so there was a big time gap where I had to take a break from this gif to think over his pose. Because I drew Sora much later than Riku, they might even have different styles or look like they should be in separate gifs, but I think they needed to be in at least one gif together. XD It's not easy trying to compress all of their clothing details into chibi form, so I tried my best not to get carried away with the details and at the same time, include enough details. I think this may be my first time doing a small chibi gif of characters from a video game series with my own poses, so things are far from perfect, but I think this isn't too bad for a first try. ^_^
This is Rock Howard from KOF Maximum Impact 2 or King of Fighters 2006. He is one of my favorite characters from the game and I've been thinking about making a gif of him many times, but wasn't able to draw him well enough until now. ^_^ When I saw his new outfit in this color, I was instantly in love with it and as I looked more at the costume, the more I wanted to make it into a gif. Because there are just about no images of him with this outfit on the internet except for the official illustrations (which doesn't include this color and style), the only source I had was the model in the game itself. I had to play through story mode with him countless times to get down every detail and color combination. I can say that the in-game model and the official illustration has a little difference in hair styles, so I actually combined a bit of both just to balance it out. The pose was a bit challenging, since I had many variations of this pose, but I decided to stick with this one. I tried my best to make it look just as good as the in-game version of him and I think I am pretty happy with it. ^_^

Cloud from Advent Children, a very difficult gif to make, especially when I decided to make it CG style. This took WEEKS to edit, so unfortunately I had no time for making other gifs... But I think his face and clothing details were the hardest to get just right. Drawing his face detailed in MS Paint is almost unheard of, but I somehow managed to pull it off WITH the help of Paint Shop Pro 8 of course, cuz without that, this would look very bland. I was struggling to get his clothing details as accurate as I could cuz in the movie, they rarely have good full body shots. So most of my resources depended on the official images and screenshots from the movie. I wanted to make the pose as interesting as possible, so I made him stand neither striaght or comepletely sideways. I don't know why, but I had no idea his shoes had that belt thing pulling it up or those two zippers on each shoe o_o. I think I degraded the details of the wolf emblem on his armor thing, because I had to brighten it up a bit, but I guess it's still detailed enough. The hair and also took some time to get just right as well as the way the clothes are blowing in the wind. But thank goodness it's complete. I hope it doesn't look like I rushed through it or anything, cuz I did want to finish it by the time I promised. This gif turned out much better than I predicted, so it is probably my most favorite of mine now ^_^.

A gif I put a LOT of time and detail into... Riku from Kingdom Hearts II, probably my most favorite character from the series. He was already a favortie of mine in the first Kingdom Hearts, but because the shoes he wore I thought were a bit too long for him, I overlooked the idea of making him into a gif. But ever since I heard about the release of KH2, I looked him up and saw his outfit and thought it would make a neat gif, so I actually started making this before I got the KH2 game. I was going to make the gif after the official illustration, but he looks more suave and if I may, sexier, in the 3D version >_>, so I made it from the official 3D render of him. It was very difficult to get the shadings and detail right, ESPECIALLY his face and the way his shoulders kinda lean to the side, I don't know why though o_O. This gif took many weeks and lots and lots of intervals, because the details were so overwhelming, it was hard to work on it non-stop. But finally it's completed and I couldn't be happier with the results. ^_^

Galford with his loyal pet and fighting companion, Poppy, from Samurai Showdown IV. I wanted to make a Galford gif probably since 2003, but I was so horrible at drawing him, and not to mention I had very little resources, so it was impossible before. But now that I am much better at handling more difficult gif concepts, I decided to make a gif in yet another pose displayed in the character selection screen in the game. For some reason, I love all the poses for each character in the selection screen of this game, like the Shizumaru gif in the previous page for example, and Galford's is definately no exception. I chose his second outfit color from the game instead of the original blue outfit with the orange scarf because I thought this color was much more unique, the way the outfit is royal violet/red blended together with the blue and how his dog is brown and white instead of black and white, I think this color scheme was really appealing. I had so much trouble drawing his face since I only had one several screenshots as a resource, and not very clear ones at that, so it was extremely difficult to draw him in MS Paint. As usual, the poses are always cut off around the waist down area, so I had to make up the rest of his body pose. It wasn't as difficult as the Shizumaru one, but it was the most tedious to make. But after all that work, I think this is one of my current favorite gifs. ^_^

I really wanted to make a gif with some traditional Japanese-style clothing, and Shizumaru seemed to really fit what I was looking for. One of my most favorite Samurai Showdown IV characters with awesome umbrella and sword moves, I just had to pick him for my next gif. This pose is from where you would see the character after choosing them in the selection menu. However, it only showed him up to the bottom of his shins, but I loved this pose so much that I wouldn't let that stop me from making a full body gif of him, so I had to make up the rest of the pose myself. It took countless hours to draw one that would go with the pose of his upper body and stance, and I finally ended up with this one. I am pretty satisfied with the end result, so I might not have to re-edit this one.
